Genk vs Waasland Beveren by OctopusKnut
Last year Waasland was struggling already and this season will be harder. Not because they have a really poor team but I think all the other clubs have become even better. At first sight you would think they had a some really good friendlies, they lost just 1 of the 7 games they played. When you look closer you will see that most of the clubs are lower league clubs, and the one they lost is against Romanian club Bucharest.
When you look at the players of Waasland you will see that most of the players are very young. Oldest player at the moment is De Schutter, 28 years old and injured. This will be the first season as a coach for trainer Clement from Waasland. Expect them to play defensively.
KRC Genk will go for a top 3 spot this season. They won't play in Europe this season because they lost the playoffs final from Oostende last season. They almost have the same team as previous season. Ingvartsen is new to the club and doubtful (from Nordsjaelland). Dewaest and Koteles are still injured and both won't play. Brabec and Pozuelo are doubtful.
At the end, Genk has a much better team. Waasland will play defensively and try to keep a clean sheet. Personally I think after the 1-0 Genk will finish the job and go for a 3-0 victory here.
