Botev Plovdiv vs Maritimo by MartinKamenarski

Botev-Plovdiv
VS
Maritimo
Botev Plovdiv are going to explode! This is the main news on every online site or newspaper here in Bulgaria. This team took all the respect in Bulgaria and around the world who is following closely the football scene.Three years ago Botev Botev was led to bankruptcy because their owner Tsvetan Vasilev was found guilty for stealing millions from the country. No one even knew whether this team will continue to play professional football or they will be again throw to the third league like they were years ago.But this happened exactly the opposite. The new leaders of the club made absolutely brutal and unbelievable transfers for the budget they have.Botev managed to sign super-class Brazilian players like Felipe Brisola, Fernando Viana, Alvaro and the super-talen Omar Kosoko. With this squad Botev managed to win the Bulgarian cup, they totally outplayed Ludogorets and deserved the cup.Something to add, Botev is one of the club with the most fans in Bulgaria and this is crucial factor on the Balkans.

Botev recent history in UEFA Europa League is quite stunning.6 wins and 1 draw with Stuttgart.Something interesting is that Botev first managed to get 0-0 draw in Germany and 1-1 in Bulgaria. This happened again in the third round like we will witness today.

All in all, when I hear Portugal, I imagine Benfica, Porto, Sporting or Braga but never of Maritimo.I do not find Maritimo classes over Botev with their current squad and abilities.Honestly, I do believe that Botev is stronger than in 2013 when they played with Stuttgart and I do believe that if they manage to draw the German giant, they can win or draw Mairitimo at home.20 000 are expected to watch the game.pin

Is it true that Botev plays their games in another stadium instead of their home stadium?

It is true yes, but still the distance in Bulgaria is not so great and Botev have 6 wins in their 7 games in the European COmpetitions on this stadium. Their fans are always playing as the 12th man.

Botev does not have a stadium. It is in process. In the league their playing in Komatevo, this is their training base.It has a 2000 capacity and this stadium can never has a European licence.Instead of this, they are playing on stadium Lazur in Burgas. The distance is 150-80 kilometers but they play for 5-6 years there so they got used to the stadium.

A little more info : Maritimo team had problems with flights in their way to Bulgaria .They had one practice and it was late night . Lazur stadium in Burgas is like a second home for Botev in Europe games and will be turned into first today . Also O.Kosoko is leavin the team for sure and maybe this 2 matches against Maritimo will be his last and he will give his best . Botev chairman admitted this . Nice analyse and work Martin ! Good luck !

I can add something more: 12 players from Maritimo left the club during the summer and now they are with a lot of new players, so their performance is expected to be inconvenient.. they need time to make a good cooperation between themselves on the pitch.

@Stan The coach of Marítimo, Daniel Ramos came to the club in the middle of last season and did not know any player and led the team to EL, this year has remained the basis of the team on defense, and some more, for me this is not the problem, but the reason for the trip have delayed because of bad weather in Madeira is that it will be the biggest concern!
