Ramos vs Mayer by Atipico07
Albert Ramos-Vinolas is a clay court specialist. After the grass season, he had some problems in Bastad as he won first round match in 3 sets against Monteiro and he lost against Fernando Verdasco in straight sets. I was expecting his lost against Verdasco as he needed time to recover after the grass season and to find his rhytm on clay again. Now, he should be able to play a good match. He already had some good results on clay this season (for example final in Montecarlo losing only against the king of clay).
Mayer, on the other hand, is nothing special atm...he is the number 138 in the world and he is playing on clay since March (maybe that's why odds are that high). He played almost 2 weeks in Bastad as he played the challenger too. He lost in the semifinals against Ymer in straight sets. After that, he played qualifications winning both matches in 3 sets against Mathieu and Lamasine but he lost the first round match against Dolgopolov in straight sets.
Ramos Vinolas is clearly the better player. He should be able to play good at his level after last week in Sweden and he will win in straight sets imo.
