KPV Kokkola’s home defeat by AC Oulu on Sunday (0-1) opens up a great opportunity for Honka to climb back at the top of the standings in the Finnish Ykkonen.

In the matter of fact, the hosts are not doing so well lately, having recorded just two wins in their last five games (2-2-1 5/6), compared to six victories and three draws in the first nine rounds (6-3-0 22/3).However, those two defeats came away from home, while Tapiolan Urheilupuisto is still a fortress for Honka, as the hosts have recorded four wins in their previous six games here (5-0 vs. GrIFK, 4-0 vs. AC Oulu, 3-2 vs. Gnistan, 2-0 vs. Jaro) with two draws against the other two promotion candidates KPV Kokkola (1-1) and TPS (1-1).

Tommi Saarinen (defender / 1 goal) will serve a one-match ban, while Miko Puuskari (midfielder), Duarte Tammilehto (midfielder) and Onni Puhalainen (forward) are out due to injuries, but the last three players are unavailable since May.

GrIFK is another newly promoted team, but with quite different goals, as the guests are currently in 9th place in the standings (2-5-7 12/29), three points behind the first team outside the relegation zone.

In addition to that, the guests rely almost entirely on their games in Kauniainen, while away from home they’ve won just two points in seven games (0-2-5 4/19) and suffered four heavy defeats in the last four of them against Honka (0-5), Ekenas (1-4), OPS (1-4) and TPS last Wednesday (0-3).

I think that the hosts are capable to cover this handicap.
