Slavia Sofia vs Botev Plovdiv by Stanioooo
Slavia made a draw 1:1 in the 1st round against CSKA-Sofia, but they didn't impress me. CSKA were much better during the match and missed a lot of chances especially in the 1st and in the beginning of the 2nd half. When you miss so many chances you will be punished and Slavia did that in one of their attacks. Now they have really hard task to face Botev which team have a lot of confidence after they eliminated Beitar Yerusalem in EL after the trashing 4:0 in Bourgas. Slavia's coach Zlatomir Zagorcic wants his team to finish in the first 6 teams in the final table, but I think this will be really hard to happen. They sold one of of their best strikers Serder Serderov in Russia, while the defender Petko Hristov is now part of Fiorentina.
Botev are facing Maritimo in the next round of EL and they know their chances for the EL play-offs are not so small. They want to finish in the first 4 teams in the table this season and they have to potential to do that. Their main weapon Omar Kossoko is doubtful for this game, but he's still in the group and I expect him to take part in this match(not so sure from the start or from the bench in the 2nd half). His injury is not serious, but I think they don't have to risk him to play 90 minuted today before the matches against Maritimo. Yordan Minev(DF) will miss this match for sure, cause he's 36 years old and needs more time to relax before the big games in EL. Still Botev have a big variety of excellent players in their squad-Todor Nedelev, Serkan Yusein, Felipe Brisola, Lachezar Baltanov and Fernando Viana can make the difference today.
Botev won 3 of their matches last season, while Slavia won 1 of them. Also the last match at this stadium finished 0:3 for Botev against Slavia and there aren't much changes in both teams. The temptation in me to pick Botev to win at 3.20 is really high, but I will choose Botev(DNB) in case they make a draw. I don't see Slavia as a winner here, although Botev play two matches per week and maybe they will rest one of their main weapons Omar Kossoko. After the loss against Pirin in the 1st round they will want to take point/s from Slavia and I'm sure they will do that!
