Seattle vs NY Yankees by Sors
The 23-year-old rookie is coming off the worst start in his short MLB career, as he gave up 6 hits and 5 runs (including three homers) over three innings at Guaranteed Rate Field last Sunday (8-7).Moore has allowed seven home runs in his last three starts and three earned runs in each of his previous three home contests, though he lasted at least seven innings in the first two of them against the Tigers on June 22 (9-6) and Kansas City Royals on July 3 (1-3).
It will be his first start against the New York Yankees, who are currently on the second AL wild-card position, with a one-game advantage over the Twins and a two-game advantage over the Kansas City Royals.
Moore will be opposed by the Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia (8-3 with a 3.54 ERA), who was tagged for 4 runs in 2 2/3 innings in his first start after his return from the disabled list on July 4 (1-4 home loss to the Blue Jays), but threw six shutout innings in his last start at Fenway Park on July 16 (3-0).
Sabathia has posted a 2.34 ERA in nine road contests this season and what is also important to be noted: the 36-year-old went 7-2 with a 2.35 ERA in twelve starts against the Mariners dating back to 2010.In his last two starts at Safeco Field, Sabathia yielded 12 hits and 3 runs while walking three and striking out thirteen over 12 2/3 innings of a 5-3 win on June 2, 2015 and a 5-1 victory on Aug. 21, 2016.
Mike Zunino has 3 hits in 6 at-bats off Sabathia, Danny Valencia is 8-for-28 with a double and a two-run home run, but Robinson Cano, Jean Segura, Kyle Seager, Jarrod Dyson and Nelson Cruz are hitting .179 (12-for-67) against him, with 24 strikeouts.
I think that the New York Yankees will manage to win that game.
