Rosenborg vs Dundalk

Rosenborg are coming into this match with 1-1 from the first match. In that match it looked like Rosenborg was getting a bit surprised of the high pressure Dundalk started with, but they managed to get the very important 1-1 goal before the break. Rosenborg looks very solid lately, and are coming from a 0-3 win vs Sogndal in the Norwegian League. In their last 7 matches in all competitions (from June to date) they stand with 4-2-1 and have scored 18 times and conceded 7. In their last home match they crushed Sandefjord with a 5-1 win. Rosenborg are standing with 6-2-1 at home in the league.

Irish side Dundalk won the league last season, 7 points ahead of Cork. This season things haven’t been that good, and as it stands they are 15 points behind Cork & placed second. Their last loss came back in early June, so this is obviously a team with high and positive morale at the moment. They are standing with 5 straight away wins, without conceding a single goal in any of these, but in the last one they only just managed to get the win with a late goal, against one of Irish League weakest home teams (Bohemians). Dundalk are standing with 7-0-4 away record in the league.

Dundalk need to score here, Rosenborg knows that and this will probably give the hosts a lot of chances in counter attacks. If not, the hosts are used to welcome defensive teams anyway, if that is what Dundalk are planning tonight. Dundalk have got themselves more rest than what Rosenborg have, but with this Rosenborg side not having problems scoring lately, I expect them to qualify to the next round in a convincing way.pin

Dundalk are better in these fixtures away from home in Europes, scoring away in very difficult fixtures last year, tel aviv, zenit, AZ. They dominated Rosenborg in the home leg, a silly defensive mistake was the only chance Rosenborg got and were lucky to come away with anything.

Under 2.5 is my tip or +1AH Dundalk.... but i believe Dundalk have a great chance here.
