Both sides re-group again after two weeks break. Los Angeles Galaxy are eight in the western conference with 1-3-5 10:18 at home. Vancouver Whitecaps are sixth in same conference with 2-1-5 9:17 away. After staying undefeated in previous 7 matches of the league with 16 points  LA Galaxy have now lost their last 3 league matches, most embarrasingly in 6-2 at home to Real Salt Lake. They played a preparatory match against Manchester United and lost 5-2. Coach fielded a more youthful side in the first half where they lost 3-0 but the more regular were fielded in the second half which ended 2-2 and it was LA reducing the deficit.

Good news for LA is the return of Jermaine Jones (M 8/1), Daniel Steres (D 12/1), main goalkeeper Brian Rowe (Gk 7/0) and Romain Alessandrini (M 17/8). Gyasi Zardes (F 12/0) is out on international duty while Sebastian Lletget (M 3/0) and Baggio Husidic (M 8/0) are out injured.

Vancouver will be without Sam Adekugbe, Alphonso Davies (M 13/0), Marcel de Jong (M 4/0), Russell Teibert (M 7/0), Kendall Waston (D 13/2) while long term injured Brett Levis (D 0/0) and David Edgar (D 0/0) continue to be absent.

LA Galaxy should be more competitively fresher after the US open cup and friendly match with Man U. They also welcome some key regular starters in important departments of the team.
