Rubin has been headliners of preseason once again but unlike last season I really see them competing for top places this time. Rubin’s legendary manager from 2001-2013, Kurban Berdyev, rejoined the club after two highly successful seasons at FC Rostov. Berdyev is not alone in making the swap from Rostov to Kazan, with defender Vladimir Granat and Fyodor Kudryashov also making the move, along with Soslan Dhzanaev and Sardar Azmoun. Many expected some of the big names from last summer to leave, Alex Song, Maxime Lestienne and Sergio Sanchez in particular, but Berdyev has kept them all around so far and played them all regularly in pre-season. So Rubin got great strength in depth. With the addition of Kudryashov as a possible left back or centre back, Rubin now have at least two players in each position who can play comfortably in the RFPL.Considering the 6+5 limit, now in it’s last season in it’s current state, Rubin can rely on their Russian players without having to worry about one player letting the team down. Last year, Vitaliy Ustinov often had to play due to injuries, and he was responsible for making mistakes which cost Rubin goals and wins. Ustinov is now set to join Rostov on loan, and Rubin can now solely rely on Kuzmin or Bauer at right back.

With away game vs Zenit looming next round Rubin must start with good result here.

Krasnodar is regressing year by year. A return of 49 points the club’s lowest since they finished 6th in 2013/14. All-time leading goalscorer Wanderson has joined Dinamo Moscow on a permanent transfer while Dmitriy Torbinskiy, Vitaly Kaleshin, Vladimir Bystrov either moving on or retiring. Only notable transfer is Wanderson from Salzburg. Despite reach owner Krasnodar can’t spend a lot due FFP breached rules 2 seasons ago so another regress season is expected. To make things worse their best player Smolov (last 2 seasons top-scorer) is out injured.

Teams are moving into different directions coming in season and I don’t see Rubin losing to Smolov-less Krasnodar side at home with all those new additions and ambitions.

This preview sounds really one-sided. That usually is the first sign not to follow it.

Rubin cannot win Krasnodar. It takes much longer for Berdyev create new competitive team.
What do you think it's possible for 1 month create new team and beat reasonble team as Krasnodar???
I played the draw hopefully Rubin be able come back and equalize.
