Schalke vs Ajax
Ajax suprised last week in the first leg against Schalke. It's not that no one expected Ajax to stand a chance, but winning with this much difference is something no one expected. Ajax overpowered Schalke at the Amsterdam Arena leaving Schalke with nothing but luck that the scoreline was just 2-0. Ajax is in great shape and it all started after the match against Feyenoord where they also played excellent football. Last weekend Ajax played against Heerenveen (8) at home and after conceding an early goal, Ajax managed to score five times ending the match in a 5-1 win. With 26 scored goals in the last 10 matches it is obvious how easy Ajax make their goals and in away matches we barely see a different view with 20 goals scored in the last 10 away games. Ajax will be defending a 2-0, but bosz already said that this game is not over yet. If Schalke manage to score a fast goal it will still become difficult for Ajax. Bosz named the importance of scoring that away goal and decide this quarter final. We will see a different Ajax as they wil still keep the pressure on Schalke but i don't see them put that much pressure on them as in the first match. Ajax will slightly be pushed back and will conceed a goal. However Ajax has enough attacking quality to score that deciding goal in Gelsenkirchen.
Possible line up Ajax:
Onana; Viergever, Sanchez, de Ligt, Veltman; Ziyech, Schöne, Klaassen; Traoré, Dolberg, Younes
Schalke are not having their best season of all and they showed it ones again this weekend. A 2-1 loss against Darmstadt (18) is not really something to be proud of and Keher got a red card out of frustration in this game. Schalke their form is seen in the number of goals they managed to score. In the last 10 matches only 14 goals were scored and 15 were conceded. Still at home Schalke are able to score almost every game with 16 goals scored in their last 10 matches at home. In the last 10 home matches Schalke did not score in only one of them. I think that we will see an offensive Schalke who will fight for their last chances for sure, because as I already said an early goal can change everything. Schalke will be missing Naldo, Kolasinac, Baba and Höwedes in the back and choupo-moting in front.
Possible line up Schalke:
Fährman; Kolasinac, Nastasic, Höwedes, Coke; Bentaleb, Geis, Caliqiuri, Goretzka, Schöpf; Badstuber
