Sharjah vs Al Wahda by Alexis1016
Al Wahda were expected to compete for the title this season, but things didn't went very well under the guidance of veteran coach Javier Aguirre. The Abu Dhabi side is almost eliminted from the ACL and will finish outside top 4 in the AGL. However, they still have the chance to finish the season well by winning the President Cup and to be in the ACL again next season. Aguirre has a fully fit squad to choose from.
Al Sharjah were not expected to compete for the title like Al Wahda, but the expections were high after signing some good foreigners from Saudi League and hiring Greece manager Donis. The same thing here with a little difference because Donis was sacked and replaced with former Al Wahda manager Jose Peseiro. The results were mixed under the Portuguese coach and the team never played as was expected in the start of the season.
Al Sharjah comes after 3 games in a row without defeat, but these games were against team which are under them in the rankings. Otherwise, Al Sharjah failed to put to much problems against top teams this season except that Cup game vs. Al Wasl from the previous round. However, they have lost clearly both games against Al Wahda this season, 1-7 and 1-5. This time should be more close, but Al Wahda should have the edge. They have rested some key players in the last league game vs. Al Ahli (1-2) including their top Sebastian Tagliabue. The match will be played on neutral ground in Dubai.
