CSKA Moscow vs Laboral Kutxa
The defending champion, CSKA Moscow has finished regular season on second position, 22-8 overall and 14-1 at home. The only loss at home for Russian giant came in meeting with Fenerbache and after over time.
Baskonia ended as 7th best team in regular season, 17-13 overall record and 7-8 away from home. The form of Spnish team was full of up and down. They have started very well, at one point it seemed they will be among top 4 and thus will have home court advantage in playoffs. But then there was big drop in form and they barely manged to secure playoffs at all. Baskonia needed 6-2 finish to be sure for playoffs spot.
In any case, I think this is now end of the road for them. They might be able to win in Spain against CSKA as they were able a month ago, 79-78 was back then. But here in Russian capital, Baskonia simply don't have much to hope for. Situation about CSKA roster is pretty good so I just do not see how Spanish team can cope with CSKA in away game. Regular season mutual meeting in Moscow ended with huge 28 pts win in favor of CSKA, 112-84. Those 112 was the record for CSKA in this season but it is not some too big surprise. Namely, CSKA is by far the best scoring machine in Euroleague, this season even 4 times they went above 100 pts while 90+ are regular. Overall their average of scored points is more than 87 per game while when playing at home it is 92 points per game.
Today, I see only two options. One is CSKA to cover double digits handicap and second one is Over the totals. I opted for totals cause I'm not so sure whether CSKA will play some really strong defense here, at least not for entire 40 minutes. So, it could happen to this will be single digits victory for home team. But when it comes to totals, over seems like pretty strong play with again expected 90+ points for CSKA.
