Real are coming in great form, recording nine wins and two draws in the last eleven competitive games. They are looking good and dominant in every game, and they are marching towards La Liga title. On Saturday they visited Gijon, with Zidane naming almost completely rotated squad, with only captain Ramos being named from the usual starting eleven. They struggled in that game, with Gijon being in front two times. Real were quick to answer both times, but it looked like they won`t be able to find the third. However, in 90th minute Isco stepped up and secured Real all three points with his second goal of the game. Real once again showed their winning mentality, and proved they can win even with their "second team". Varane and Pepe remain injured, while Bale is also out due to calf problem.
After a fantastic period, Bayern`s form has dropped dramatically in the last couple of weeks. They recorded only one victory in the last four games, and even though that victory came against Dortmund and was a convincing one, there are a lot of reasons for them to be unsatisfied. They failed to find a net both in loss to Hoffenheim and in draw with Leverkusen last time out. They came into that game as clear favourites, and even though they traditionally had problems in Leverkusen, they should`ve won that match. Bayern dominated the game, limiting hosts to virtually nothing. However, they couldn`t take their chances, even though they were a man up since 59th minute when Jedvaj got sent off. It didn`t matter much in terms of their league title, as they have eight-point advantage with five games to go, but it certainly didn`t raise their self-confidence. Bayern will have lot of problems in defence, as Martinez is suspended, Hummels still injured, and Boateng questionable returning from the injury. Lewandowski should return, however.
Real has a huge advantage from the first game, which could`ve been even bigger had it not been for Neuer`s good couple of saves. Bayern had an opportunity at the end of the first half to increase their lead from the penalty, and things might have gone a different way, but when you look back at the game as a whole, Real were a better side. Martinez`s sending off didn`t help the hosts either, but that is all part of football, and should be seen that way. Bayern will have to attack here from the first minute, since they need at least two goals, and that should leave them exposed at the back. Real`s attacking force is rested, as is the rest of the team, and they should not have problem scoring on Bayern`s defence whitout it`s key players. They proved their quality already in Munich, and there is no reason not to repeat that in Madrid. Goals should surely be on the cards here, but as goal markets don`t really offer value, I will back Real here with a 0 asian handicap, as I see them being favourites here. They are in better form at the moment, have huge advantage, and I just can`t see them losing here.
