Leicester vs Atletico Madrid by PatrickBateman
After a run of six straight wins, reality Leicester and they lost two and drew one in the last three outings. However, they have done all but secured survival, since they are nine points above relegation zone. In the last they game they visited reborn Crystal Palace and took a point. It started great for Leicester, with Huth scoring in 6th minute. That was the only goal in the first half, and quickly after the break, Vardy put Leicester 2:0 up with his goal in 52nd minute. However, hosts didn`t surrender and Cabaye answered just two minutes later. It was all Palace from that moment on, and they deservedly equalized in 70th minute via Benteke. In the end game finished 2:2, which was the fair outcome. For this game Leicester will miss injured Mendy and suspended Huth, while Morgan could return.
Atletico have been in good form lately, remaining unbeaten in the last ten outings. During that period they have been looking like the old Atletico we all knew, having kept their net untouched seven times, conceding only three goals in process. In the last game they beat Osasuna 3:0 at home, in a game which went exactly as expected, with Atletico having complete control. Osasuna haven`t had a single chance, and Atletico put the game beyond any doubt in 61st minute when Filipe Luis scored to make it 3:0, after Carrasco netted two. In 89th minute Carrasco had an opportunity to complete his hat-trick from the penalty, but Sirigu kept it out, as he did only minute later when Atletico were awarded another penalty. This time Partey stepped up, but the outcome was the same, leaving Sirigu with quite an achievement. Vrsaljko, Gameiro and Moya are out for this game.
Reverse fixture a week ago finished 1:0 for Atletico, with the only goal coming from the penalty which shouldn`t have been awarded in all honesty. Atletico did dominate, however, but Leicester were holding on, leaving with a good result. They will have a tough task here, even tougher than against Sevilla, as Atletico are a much more quality team, and also, even if Leicester wins Atletico could progress on away goal rule. Atletico failed to score on the road only once in the last thirteen games, and despite Leicester`s good home performances they will hardly manage to keep a clean sheet here. Especially with Leicseter being without Huth and Morgan noth being completely fit. On the other hand, despite Atletico`s stellar defensive record of late, motivated Foxes in need for goal should have enough to net at least one here. I don`t think that Leicester will lose here, but I can see that happening if they go all out attack at some point of the game. Atletico will surely be clinical in that kind of situation, and therefore I am not comfortable making that selection. Instead, I will go with both teams to score here, since I think it is likely to happen. The odds are pretty high, probably because bookies think that this game could go down to the wire with a 0:0 score, but I don`t think that will happen. I think that we will see standard Atletico and a slightly braver Leicester, which should bring us result around 1:1.
