Sunderland vs West Ham by Rahul

West Ham have been struggling in recent weeks which has seen them now win just 1 out of their last 8 games which was against Swansea last weekend by a 1-0 scoreline. The positive impact that West Ham will have coming into this encounter is that their goal scoring form has been excellent. West Ham have scored 13 goals in their last 9 games which will encourage the Hammers faithful that the team can stay off from the relegation zone as they now have a 8 point cushion especially after beating Swansea last weekend. West Ham will rely a lot on the likes of Caroll, Kouyate, Lanzini, Feghouli, Ayew and Snodgrass to be the players influential in the attacking side of the game.

Sunderland on the flip side have been absolutely shambolic of a Premier League side where after spending a lot of money on many players from across the world, still rely on a 34 year old English striker in Defoe to help them survive from this encounter. The problem is Defoe hasn't netted in 10 out of his last 11 games in all competitions and that has seen Sunderland fail to score in 10 out of their last 11 games with just a solitary 4-0 win over Crystal Palace being their only saving grace during that period. For Sunderland, sitting 9 points from safety, and teams above them including Boro, Swansea and Hull playing in much better form for them; its hard to see them survive.

West Ham will look to exercise their recent form over Sunderland and will need to focus hard defensively in order to not concede in this encounter. I am backing West Ham to win this game, but as an insurance, I am backing West Ham on the Draw No Bet market.
