West Brom vs Southampton by Beat-The-Odds

West Brom have four wins, three draws, and three defeats in their last ten outings in the Premier League. This record may be largely uninspiring, but The Baggies overall form this season has been excellent by their standards and they are well on their way to their best ever Premier League finish. This success can largely be attributed to their excellent form at The Hawthorns. At home they have lost just four league games this season, but even more impressive is their winning record. They have won eight of their last ten games at home, including a fantastic 3-1 win over Arsenal last time out.

Southampton have been less impressive than their opponents. The departure of Ronald Koeman along with their seasonal exodus of players left them struggling to rebuild, and despite a few good runs of form it certainly seems like that rebuilding job is a work in progress. The Saints have have won three, drawn three, and lost six of their last 12 away days.

Defensively Southampton have been very weak, and their injury problems haven’t helped either. Sofiane Boufal and Manolo Gabbiadini are doubts for Southampton, whilst Virgil van Dijk, Charlie Austin, Alex McCarthy, and Matt Targett remain sidelined, Jeremy Pied could potentially make his debut after spending the entire season out injured. West Brom are expecting to be free from injuries on Saturday.

Southampton have conceded 11 goals in their last six away games and they’re facing a West Brom side who have scored 21 goals in their last ten home games. West Brom have won 60% of their home games this season, including 80% of their last ten, and lost just 27% of them, whilst Southampton have lost 53% of their away games and only won 27% of them.
