Milwaukee vs Chicago Cubs by GameChanger
I'm writing this preview simpy because I see huge value in this play. For Brewes Nelson will take mound and altough he didn't have very good 2016 stats I think that he is a lot better pitcher than stats are showing.
His main problem is command, he walked a lot players last year and he hit 17 of them, mostly because he likes to pitch inside of the plate. Cubs biggest star Bryant didn't have hit since start of the season and he is certanly going to be "swing happy" which could work in advantage of Nelson who will look to have couple of strikeouts and easy groundouts.
For Cubs Brett Anderson will be on the mound and he is pretty average pitcher, he came from LA Dodgers in which he had average 2016 season. He is nothing special and Brewes could certanly put up couple of runs on the board until bullpen comes in.
When it comes to hitters, Cubs are best team in MLB but Brewers have also couple of good hitters, leading by fast runners Villar, Thames and Broxton. They are all potential base stealers and very good base runners, so priority is going to be put them out early.
I think that Brewes could suprise Cubs here, they played already 3 games at home this season and they are well adjusted when it comes to that. Anderson is not better pitcher than Nelson at all and Brewers hitters have potential to collect couple of runs wil their fast base runners.
I'm counting on big suprise here and I'm taking great 4.25 odds on Brewers -1.5.
My pick: Milwaukee Brewers -1.5
