Malaga vs Barcelona by PatrickBateman
Malaga are 15th with 30 points. They have been in bad form lately, winning only two out of the last nineteen competitive matches. However, on Wednesday they managed to get valuable victory in Gijon, which saw them drifting from the relegation zone by 8 points. It was a pretty even match, with couple of chances from both sides. But in the end, it was Malaga who took all three points thanks to Ramirez`s goal in 40th minute. Gijon had two good chances at the very end, but Kameni was concentrated and managed to keep his net intact. For this game Malaga will miss injured Kone and Penaranda, as well as suspended Keko.
Barcelona are 2nd with 69 points. That is two points less than Real but with a game more. They have been in great form recently, with a loss against La Coruna being their first league defeat since October. In the last game they beat Sevilla 3:0 at Camp Nou. The game was practically solved in 33rd minute, when Messi made it 3:0 with his second goal of the game. Since that moment, Barcelona slowed down, and let Sevilla control the possession. It didn`t do much good for the visitors, since they couldn`t create clear opportunities. In the end, it was a comfortable win for the hosts which came maybe even easier than expected. Here, Barcelona will be without Rafinha, Turan and Vidal who are injured, as well as without Rakitic and Pique who got their fifth yellow card against Sevilla.
Barcelona are coming as clear favourites here, and it will take hell of an effort from Malaga to stop them. However, it is worth noting that Malaga already stopped Barcelona when they met at Camp Nou earlier in the season. Malaga have put themselves in a comfortable position with a win against Gijon, and they can come into this game relaxed. They haven`t been scoring a lot lately, but they put up a solid performances in the last two outings, against Atletico and Gijon. And with Barcelona`s defense being vulnerable, let alone without Pique, Malaga should put themselves on a scoresheet here. Barcelona are in good form, and they are a class apart from Malaga any day, therefore their win should be a must here if they want to stay in contention for the first place. Barcelona`s win is priced at around 1.36, while both teams to score goes around 1.70. In my eyes both of those odds are too low, but a combination of those two carries a lot of value at the odds of 2.70. I think that Barcelona`s win is inevitable here, but at the same time I believe that Malaga has a solid chance of scoring, and therefore Barcelona`s win with both teams scoring is my pick here.
