Valencia vs Celta by PatrickBateman
Valencia are 13th with 33 points. They have been in mixed form recently, with all of their positive results coming at home. After three games without a win, they managed to get a victory on Sunday against La Coruna. It was more or less equal game, even though the scoreline wouldn`t suggest that. Visitors had a first chance in the game when they were awarded penalty in 8th minute. However, Diego Alves proved once again that he is the master of penalties, and the result stayed unchanged. Only one minute later, though, Garay gave hosts the lead. Albentosa scored an own goal in 28th minute, and it seemed that Deportivo will hardly get back in the game. They had couple of chances in the second half, but couldn`t find a net. In fact, Valencia scored another one in 90th minute - Cancelo was the scorer. So, in the end, it was a convincing victory for Valencia, who continued their good home form. For this game they will be without suspended Montoya and injured Gaya, while Nani and Rodrigo are questionable.
Celta are 10th with 41 points. They are in pretty good form at the moment, coming into this game with four wins out of five competitive games. In the last game they beat Las Palmas at home 3:1. Celta started the game better, and by the 36th minute were leading 2:0, with both goals coming from Rossi. Las Palmas were virtually invisible in the first half, but after the break they woke up. But it was the hosts who found a net once again, when Rossi completed his hat-trick in 57th minute. Visitors managed only to score a consolation goal via Bigas in 80th minute, to make it 3:1. Celta will miss Blanco, Diaz and Mallo who are injured, while Guidetti is doubtful.
Valencia are coming as favourites, mostly because of their good home form of late. However, Celta is coming after a convincing win, and on a three-game winning streak. These two teams met already three times this season, with Celta winning all three matches. All of those games saw both teams scoring, and I think this one might also. Valencia`s defense has been a little bit more stable than earlier in the season, especially at home, but Celta is a dangerous team which plays attacking football. Also, Valencia`s offense is a better part of the team, and they should push up here in search for three points. Valencia still remains team closer to a win, but Celta will not give up easily. Therefore, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals looks tempting at the odds of 2.20, since both teams have enough to find a net and it is hard to see anyone stopping at 1:1.
