Aalesund vs Sarpsborg by 20legend

Aalesund had very little to offer in their first game away against Stabaek (3-1) on Sunday. Stabaek has been predicted to be struggling all season, but their striker Ohi Omoijuanfo made Aalesund think otherwise with his hat-trick. It was Stabaek that created the majority of chances as they were loyal to their own way of playing. Aalesund struggled to put pressure on the home team, but came back better in the last 30 minutes. Their strike Mos Abdellaoue was at the right place to the right time after 65 minutes, and Aalesund suddenly got some initiative after getting their goal. Maybe it also was because Ohi had to go off after 68 minutes with a back-injury, but Aalesund did not come any closer to their second goal either way. It was a match to forget and it is all about re-focusing when one of their toughest opponents this season comes to Color Line Arena.

Sarpsborg 08 is predicted to fight among the top 5 teams this season and it certainly looked that way in their first game against Sogndal (3-1). After a nervous start when they let Sogndal have a lot of the ball and get the first goal after 15 minutes, the game gradually went in Sarpsborg’s favor. It all started with their defender Sigurd Rosted equalizing after 30 minutes. The pattern continued early in the second half with the home team netting twice inside the first 20 minutes thanks to Kristoffer Zachariassen and Sigurd Rosted once again. Those goals also killed the excitement in the game. Sarpsborg 08 took over the game completely and it was just for them to control the three points in the end.

Aalesund did not get the chance to show themselves from their best angle against Stabaek, but will be much more comfortable in front of their own fans tonight. Sarpsborg 08 showed strong signs in their first match though and I think we can be in for an entertaining match here. The home team has a possible top scorer candidate in Mos Abdellaoue that can score on almost any team in the league, while Sarpsborg represents the strong unit that earns goals by combining together. I can’t pick a clear winner in this one, but I think it will involve both teams scoring. That has been the fact in the past two meetings at Color Line Stadion with 2-2 last season and 2-2 in 2015.
