Bodo Glimt vs Kongsvinger by 20legend
The team has enjoyed quite a good preseason in terms of results without counting on that too much. Five wins which including against Molde (0-2), Levanger (2-0) and Tromsdalen (1-0), two losses on La Manga and a draw in the final game agaisnt Tromso (3-3) shows the facts. Their final match agaisnt Tromso showed both their offensive capabillity and their defensive struggles at times that needs to go away. Bodo/Glimt lead 0-1 and 2-3, but did not manage to take the win in the end.
Kongsvinger is ready for another season in OBOS-Ligaen and they want to continue to build on their great season last year. They managed to get into qualification, but did lose agaisnt Jerv when it counted as most. However, they did also go all the way into the cup final agaisnt Rosenborg which was a brilliant performance. The season showed that Kongsvinger can be a tough team to handle for any opponent on a given day, but it is difficult to predict how this version of the team will be. The club has a young squad with new signins like Fredrik Sjolstad (Hodd). Two new goalkeepers has been brought in with Otto Fredrikson retirement in mind, and Simen Lillevik (on loand from Stabaek) and Aleksey Gorodovoy (Spartak Nalchik) will fill the shoes this season. On top, attackers Niklas Castro (Valerenga) and Pär Ericksson (Jönköping) will give positive energrgy and contribute with more routnine to this young squad. Konsvinger's preseason has not been the best in terms of results with a win agaisnt Valerenga (2-1), thre losses agaisnt Stabaek (0-1), Sarpsborg 08 (0-2) and Strommen (0-1) and two draws agaisnt Jerv (1-1) and Mjondalen (2-2). In terms of injuries tonight, the strikers Maikel Nieves and Mats Cato Moldskred is out together with midfielder Orjan Royrane and defender Fredrik Palerud.
It will a match between two great teams in OBOS-Ligaen this seaso, but it is only the home side that can aim for the very top in my opinion. Kongsvinger must lean heavily on their two best players with striker Adem Güven and midfielder Martin Ellingsen, but the depth in this squad should make it tough to get among the top six. They also have a new coach in Hans Erik-Eriksen and it could be tough to build up another team to perform the way Kongsvinger did last season in such a short amount of time. Bodo/Glimt has a much better team on paper and must win quickly in order to establish their beleive on going straight back up to Eliteserien. That is usually easier said that done, with Bodo/Glimt using four seasons on that performance the last time they went down back in 2009. All in all, I predict Bodo/Glimt to take this. They will have most of the possession and are able to outplay every opponent in this league with their quick counter-attacks and pacefull players upfront. Kongsvinger must try to destroy Bodo/Glimt's game plan and drag down the tempo as much as they can in order to get the home team frustrated and turn the game into their favor. However, I think Bodo/Glimt will have enough experience to see this and adapt to the situation in order to grab their first win already in game one.
