Swansea vs Middlesbrough by GlacialSpirit

Sunday features only 2 games from the English Premier League. Liberty Stadium hosts one of the two as Swansea takes on Middlesbrough.

Swansea felt to 17th place with 27 points same as 18th Hull after their last two defeats. The team has its back up against the wall and faces serious danger of relegation. The Swans lost their last 2 games both of them away against Hull and Bournemouth. Losing 2 games in a row against relegation rivals definitely hurts and the team need to try and bounce back. At home the team operates far better than in its away games and has recorded 3 wins in a row on Liberty Stadium. Paul Clement should be glad that Gylfi Sigurdsson is declared fit after having problems on his international duty. That still leaves Angel Rangel and Nathan Dyer out for the Sunday afternoon game. Swansea will depend on their top scorer Llorente to lead the line, his efforts supported by Gylfi Sigurdsson and Routledge.

Middlesbrough’s form is even worse than that of the Swans. The sit on 19th place with 22 points 5 behind Hull in 18th and Swansea at 17th. They recorded 4 straight defeats scoring just one goal in those 4 games and conceding 8. They haven’t won a game in 11 matches losing 7 of them and drawing the other 4. To make things worse 3 defenders are injured. Callumn Chambers is definitely out while Daniel Ayala and George Friend have slight chances to feature in the game. Unless Steve Agnew somehow manages to improve his team, Boro are looking more and more like a team which will play in the Championship next season.

Both teams are out of form. Still The Swans are playing at home where their results are significantly better and Boro has been extremely poor on the road. That makes me thing that backing Swansea to win this game is a viable choice. Therefore my pick here is Swansea to win for 1.97 in Pinnacle. Good Luck!
