Hamburger vs Koln by PatrickBateman

In this Bundesliga match HSV will host Koln.

HSV are 16th with 27 points. Thanks to good performances during the last couple of months, they are now just two points from the safe zone. They lost only two times in the last nine competitive games, including a disasterous 8:0 against Bayern. Also, they won seven and drew two out of the last ten home games, losing only to Monchengladbach in DFB Pokal. Last time out they played 0:0 in Frankfurt. It was a boring and totally uneventful game, in which we saw only one shot on goal. Both teams played safe, mostly threatening from the set pieces. The aforementioned shot on goal came from the hosts, but Adler made sure that result stays as it is. All in all the result was fair - nothing:nothing. HSV will miss Hunt, who picked up a knee injury.

Koln are 6th with 37 points. After a terrible run of six games without a win, they finally managed to get a victory in the last fixture, when they beat Hertha 4:2. It was a pretty even game in terms of statistics, with Hertha even controlling possession. However, Koln were taking their chances, and by the 37th minute they were already 3:0 up. Ibisevic pulled one up in 50th minute, but Modeste made sure that Koln remains convincingly in front with his third goal of the game in 63rd minute. Brooks made it 4:2 in 69th minute, and that was pretty much it. Koln finally managed to get a victory and remain in Europa League spot. They will be without number of players - Hartel and Lehmann who are suspended, and Bittencourt, Osako, Risse and Rudnevs who are injured.

HSV are favourites here, since they have been very solid at home, while Koln have been less than impressive on the road. Quality is on the Koln`s side, but as they have many missing players, it should be a tough task for them to win here. HSV will want to win to get out of the relegation zone, while Koln needs to win if the want to keep their Europa League spot, and even level with 5th placed Hertha. HSV has been better and better in defense, but here they are coming up against Koln lead by Anthony Modeste, who scored 22 goals this term. HSV have found a net in the last ten consecutive home games, while Koln failed to score in only one out of the last six games. With both teams needing three points here, I think we will see a more open game than what the odds suggest, and therefore I will back both teams to score here at the tempting odds of 2.00.

Good luck!
