Turkey hasn`t started this cycle very good, and they have only 5 points out of four games. After two draws, against Croatia and Ukraine, they lost on their trip to Iceland 2:0. Their last game saw them beating Kosovo 2:0 at home. They were a better side, and domintated the whole game. In the first half Kosovo was holding tough, and managed to go on a break with 0:0. However, in the second half, Turkey stepped up their game, and pactically solved the match in a space of four minutes, with Yilmaz and Sen scoring in 51st and 55th minute respectively. Turkey would`ve liked that their win had been a more convincing one, but they will be happy nonetheless to record their first victory in the group.
Finland are 5th in the group, with only 1 point, same as Kosovo. They haven`t been that bad this term, and have looked far better than Kosovo, but unfortunately for them they don`t have anything to show for it. They played 1:1 against Kosovo, before losing to Iceland after being 2:1 up until stoppage time. After that they lost to Croatia and Ukraine - both 1:0. Both of those games looked pretty much the same, with both Croatia and Ukraine scoring early goals before neutralizing Finland`s attempts. Against Croatia Finland didn`t have a single chance, while against Ukraine, they had a little more space. However, the scenario was the same, and Finland realized that even though they have shown signs of improvement, they are still far from Europe`s elite. Finland will be hit hardest with the exclusion of Eremenko, who is suspended due to drugs abuse.
Turkey are clear favourites here, and this is the last call for them if they want to stay in contention for the top of the group. Finland showed a fighting spirit, but they are nowhere near Turkey in terms of individual quality. The hosts have been far from their best lately, but win against Kosovo should represent a new start for them. Finland is a well organized team, but Turkey has enough quality to see them off. Finland hasn`t lost by more than one goal this whole cycle, but I think that motivated Turkey playing at home could inflict them with a first convincing loss. Since I believe that Turkey`s win is inevitable, I will take them with a -1 AH, for which the odds look pretty good.
