Bournemouth vs Manchester C. by Rahul

Bournemouth come into this game having failed to pick up a league victory in 2017, which has dragged them to within 6 points of the relegation zone as they have only grabbed 2 points out of a possible 15 this year. Bournemouth have struggled without the presence of many players including Wilson, Daniels, Francis, Cook, Sith who have been out at some point in this run of games. Bournemouth at home however have taken the attack to the opposition where they have scored 21 goals in 11 games at the Vitality. What has been threatening for Bournemouth is their ability to attack from wing positions in their 3-5-2/4-2-3-1 formation is that they are able to hammer a lot of chances on the target and if not get corners to give their tall defenders a chance to score. Their average for the season is around 6.2 and that maintains even against the bigger teams especially at home. In their last few games, their corner count has read as:

Everton: 8

Crystal Palace: 2

Watford: 9

Hull: 5

Arsenal: 4

Swansea: 3

Chelsea: 5

Southampton: 7

Leicester: 4

Burnley: 11

Liverpool: 4

Arsenal: 10

Manchester City have been struggling defensively, shipping goals lot with just 5 clean sheets all season. The City defense has been experimented with a lot by Guardiola from a 4-1-4-1 to a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-5-2 off late which has resulted in a lot of inconsistency at the back. When City take on oppositions, they generally tend to dominate them. They concede an average of 3.5 corners per game, but when taking on teams with strong wing play, that average count jumps to almost 4. When these 2 sides met earlier, Bournemouth conceded 5 corners in that game also.

Both teams need to pick up a victory with Bournemouth looking for a win to stretch the gap with the relegation zone, while Man City looking to pick up 3 points to move into 2nd spot. I expect a lot of attacking from both sides with City dominating, but Bournemouth will get their chances and push a lot of corners in the bargain. I am strongly backing Bournemouth to get over 3.5 corners in this game.
