Valencia started this year in La Liga with away 3:3 draw against Osasuna. They put a decent performance at El Sadar, then Los Ches suffered from 1:2 away loss to Celta Vigo in Copa del Rey. Many first-choice players were rested, anyway Valencia left a good impression. Centre-backs Adbennour (AFCON) and Mangala (suspension) are out, but it seems that Garay and Aderlan Santos should be available. Left-back Siqueira has some problems, but Gaya should be able to play from the first minute. Striker Rodrigo is injured, nevertheless he disappoints anyway. Espanyol drew against Deportivo (1:1) in their first match of 2017. Los Pericos put a poor display, Depor were a better side in that game. Espanyol have important absences for Sunday as Baptistao, Víctor Sánchez, Javi López, Caicedo probably won't be available, goalkeeper Diego Lopez is a major doubt as well. Important winger Piatti is unavailable to play against his parent club. Hernan Perez also had some problems during training sessions. Defensive midfielder Diop is away on AFCON. In my opinion hosts are favourites.

Valencia should be super motivated and Espanyol has a very bad run. This one is super tempting.... Is anyone predicting the score with Valencia poor defence?

Don't understand why Valencia will be super motivated. The atmosphere at the Mestalla is toxic. The players are afraid to play there. If they doesn't start well, expect to see the fans boo. them. Valencia is the Swansea of La Liga.

Could very well be their time today, but just the fact that Valencia has conceded in 26 straight games since the first game of the preseason in July and only failed to score themselves in 2 of those games really makes me lean towards BTTS @1.75.

Espanyol on the other hand has played 9 away games this season and 7 of those has gone under 2.5 goals of which 3 has ended 1-1.

Not that stats should be trusted too heavily, but taken that into consideration, a 1-1 draw here wouldn't be impossible.

Espanyol has scored in 10 of their 12 last matches though, and against a team that has conceded in EVERY game this season i would say that 1.75 for BTTS has great great value.
