Ivashka vs Rajeev Ram

Ram barely plays singles tennis anymore, last year he was 16/24. He only plays big tournaments and only had one good run - in Delray Beach - last year. He is facing an Ivashka who did a very good challenger season last year as he climbed from 348th to 179th. I think he will have another good year and in 2018 he should start playing a lot more ATPs. He is very tall and has a big service, while Ram has not been a strong returner in singles for years now.

Ivashka's most, by far, favored surface is hardcourt and had this match been played on clay I would not back him, despite this also being Ram's favored surface. Ram played in the Australian Open last year (he did not have to qualify then) where he defeated Anderson in the first round, but Anderson played semi injured and had to retire. Still, with an Anderson playing at max 70% of his capability, the match was very close. I don't see Ram being a challenging force anymore and I am backing Ivashka to take the match in easier fashion than most people would expect.
