Oklahoma vs Player Special by Lloyds
Rockets are hosting Thunder in Houston tonight, in what will be the 3rd encounter between these two teams this season and another highly expected showdown between Russel Westbrook and James Harden.
Both players are front-runners in MVP race and have been putting up crazy numbers, mostly due to their teams' fast pace offensive game. Westbrook has the highest usage rate in the league, basically meaning when he is on the floor every offensive possession starts from him. Houston's lack of defense in Mike D'Antoni's system should give more space to Russel, to operate and command his offense to its full potential. The Rockets are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to defending in the paint (allow 46.1 ppg), while Oklahoma thrives inside with Kanter and Adams, who utilize most of the passes from Westbrook. The pick and roll game is where Westbrook is unstoppable. The Rockets are also bad at defending in transition and fast breaks so don't expect them to slow down Westbrook, who is the league fastest player in open court.
I reckon tonight game shall result in a lot of points from both sides because of little to no-regard to defense. Westbrook had only 2 assists against Charlotte the other night so he will be looking to improve that for sure. The odds for him recording over 10 assists are not to be overlooked, as he is going to challenge for another triple double tonight.
