Raonic vs Nadal by Estebaneiro
Rafa Nadal is taking this year preparations for Australian Open very seriously, and that's why he changed his schedule, and instead of Doha which he participated in usually, he decided on Brisbane, just to adjust to Australian conditions. However his first matches were played in Mubadala Exhibition tournament where he won all 3 matches including one against Milos Raonic (6-1 3-6 6-3). It ended with 3 setter, but Nadal shown a significant dominance and had some good chances to take advantage also in the second set, but couldn't pull it off. All in all his victory was fully deserved, and advancing to the final he took down David Goffin in straight sets.
Generally Raonic doesn't have an easy time with Nadal every time they meet and he won only once in 9 matches. Even though at the moment he is one of the top players in ATP World Tour, he does have real problems facing other top players and he does have a bad H2H record against them.
Nadal so far in Brisbane is doing great, and today he crushed Mischa Zverev 6-1 6-1, and Zverev is also a solid serving player. Of course he is not on Raonic's level, but still the style of this win and the fact that throughout whole match Nadal commited only 7 unforced errors, which is an outstanding result.
Raonic serve can be a problem here, and maybe he will even steal a set, but Nadal has dealt with so many strong serving guys in his career that I'm fairly confident that he will win this one.
