Mahut vs Dimitrov by Iniestaone
Dimitrov disposed of Johnson a lot easier than I thought he would - it was merely a phonecall that lasted far too long that prevented me from writing a preview for that match going over the line. Dimitrov won 6-2 6-3 and showed magnificent form.
Mahut defeated Robert in three sets, he did a great job grinding out the victory there but he is now facing a player who is far superior to him. Mahut is a great indoors player (well, we'll see what he produces this year as he turns 35 this month) but his serve-volley style doesn't work as well on slower courts so naturally he isn't as good on regular hardcourts as he is on quick indoor surfaces. Last year he was 9/7 on hardcourt but he didn't once defeat a player of Dimitrov's calibre.
Dimitrov took charge against Johnson and controlled the match from beginning to end, he was broken once (1st game, 2nd set) but broke Johnson four times and the single breakpoint he handed Mahut was the one the Frenchman took advantage of and broke. I don't see Mahut competing with Dimitrov at all, I predict another easy win for the Bulgarian and I see great value at the odds Unibet is offering.
