Georgia Tech vs Kentucky by QuidProQuo

Georgia Tech will play Kentucky in early game today for Tax Slayer Bowl in Jacksonville. Currently, Georgia Tech is 3.5-point favorite, while the total is sitting at 63 points. It's ACC against the SEC.

Georgia Tech is coming to Jacksonville with three straight wins over Virginia Tech (30-20), Virginia (31-17) and Georgia (28-27). They ended regular season with 5 wins in their last six games, but prior to that, they've also lost three straight to Clemson, Miami and Pittsburgh, so they're vulnerable for sure. Their best player is their quarterback Justin Thomas and he's solid passer and an very good runner (562 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns). But, it's really hard to say if they even have an advantage on QB spot. Stephen Johnson is junior QB leading Kentucky to their first bowl game since 2010 (they won last in 2008). He has had some stellar performances. In their last game, they beat Louisville on the road 41-38 for huge upset and in that game Johnson had 338 passing yards for 3 passing TD's and 83 rushing yards, team-best rusher on that game.

When we look at offensive lines, Kentucky have an advantage for sure. They might have best running backs duo in country in Boom Williams (1.135 rushing yards, 7 TD) and Benny Snell (1.057 rushing yards, 13 TD). Best running back on the Georgia Tech is Dedrick Mills who had 602 rushing yards. Dorian Baker, Ryan Timmons and Jeff Badet are wild receivers for Kentucky and they're miles ahead of Georgia Tech ones. Also, Kentucky has great tight-end in C.J. Conrad who's fourth receiver in team, while Georgia Tech doesn't even use tight-end position in their offensive system.

While all this shows how big advantage Kentucky has offensively, I gotta give advantage to Georgia Tech's defense. Their defensive line and linebackers are better, while defensive backs are about even. Although, this is promising to be very high scoring game in which offenses should compete to outscore their rival, especially since it's the bowl game. And in game like that, I can see Kentucky scoring close to 40 points and winning this game straight-up. 3.5 points handicap just gives us great value here. Good luck!
