Hurricanes vs Melbourne Stars by Rahul
Marcus Stoinis had a great Big Bash League last year which turned out to be a break out season for him where he got the opportunity to average 17 with the bat at a strike rate of 100. But the opportunity to open the batting really gives him the opportunity against a good new ball and without Kevin Pietersen in the side for this game, a lot of importance will fall on him to deliver a strong performance. Stoinis also has turned into a reputable all rounder taking 9 wickets in 7 matches bowled in last season. He often bowled in the middle overs and his change in pace made batsman cross the line and hit and get caught or miss completely and get bowled. He has been bowling regularly in Shield and ODI Cups on the domestic front, so his bowling is in regular touch and he will be expected to take a wicket or 2 in this game.
28.5 points is quite a low mark for an allrounder and opening batsman, and I am expecting him to score those performance points.
