Braga sacked Jose Peseiro right after the disappointing defeat against Covilha in the fifth round of the Portuguese Cup on Dec. 14 (1-2/home), as he was replaced by Jorge Simao, whose debut last Sunday was truly impressive (1-0 in the visit to Sporting Lisbon).

The main reason for this change is obviously in those three defeats in the last six games under Peseiro, though there is one thing that should be taken into account here: the hosts were eliminated in the group stage of the Europa League after winning just one point from their last two games in Group H against Gent (2-2/away) and Shakhtar Donetsk (2-4/home) and then came the surprising defeat against Covilha in the Portuguese Cup, but Braga is performing much better in the league, where this team just climbed on 3rd position in the standings, with two-point advantage over Sporting Lisbon (9-2-3 25/12).

In addition to that, Estadio Municipal de Braga has been turned into a fortress for Braga this season, as the hosts seek their seventh straight win here in the league after those against Boavista (3-0), Setubal (2-1), Chaves (1-0), Belenenses (2-1), Feirense (6-2) and Pacos de Ferreira (3-0).

Mauro Sousa (midfielder), Nikola Stojiljkovic (forward / 3 goals) and Pedro Santos (forward / 7 goals) are still out due to injuries, but these three players are unavailable since November.

Moreirense comes from a painful home loss against Arouca last Saturday (1-4), fourth for the guests in the last five rounds, thanks to which they are now on the edge of the relegation zone, level on points with Feirense (15th place) and with just one point advantage over the last team in the standings (Tondela).

Moreirense has serious problems in defense lately and is obvious that the guests will rely almost entirely on their home games after those five defeats in their previous seven away games in the league (2-0-5 6/13).Four of those seven encounters were lost by two or more goals difference, while Moreirense won points only against the last two teams in the standings (3-0 vs. Feirense in the second round of the season and 2-1 vs. Tondela on Oct. 29).

I think that Braga will manage to win this match, most probably by more than one goal difference.

"whose debut last Sunday was truly impressive (1-0 in the visit to Sporting Lisbon)".

Are you sure about that?!

Abel was the coach against Sporting, who is an internal Braga coach.

Jorge Simão was only presented on tuesday, after Porto vs Chaves match, his previous team. Today will be his first game at Braga bench.
