Cagliari vs Sassuolo by PatrickBateman
Cagliari are 15th with 20 points. They have only two wins in the last ten competitive games, both at home – against Palermo and Udinese. Majority of their points came from their home matches, more precise 16 of them. They lost only two times, but convincingly – 5:3 against Fiorentina and 5:0 against Napoli last time out. They have the worst defense in the league, conceding 39 goals this season, which translates into almost 2.5 per game. For this game they will be missing Boriello, Ionita and Murru, all injured.
Sassuolo are one place under Cagliari with three points less than them. They have only one win in the last thirteen matches, at home against Empoli. In the last game they lost at home against Inter 1:0, in a game which should`ve ended up with more convincing Inter`s victory, but thanks to Ssasuolo`s goalkeeper Consigli, it hasn`t. To be fair, Sassuolo had ther chances and could`ve scored, but Inter was the better team throughout the whole game and had numerous chances. Also, in a 2:1 defeat against Fiorentina they weren`t weaker than their opponents, but again came up with nothing. When looking at their away form, they have twelve competitive matches in a row without a win, with their only victory coming in Week 1, against Palermo. They will be without a number of players, all injured – Berardi, Biondini, Cannavaro, Duncan, Gazzola, Letschert and Magnanelli.
Cagliari are slight favourites here, but mostly because of Sassuolo`s poor away form. However, when looking at the quality of the team, it`s hard to separate these two. Cagliari`s defense hich conceded 39 goals this term is really making it hard for them, and they will have a hard time here, since Sassuolo are scoring regularly. However, their good home form which sees them scoring 2 goals per game on average, should ensure them couple of goals here, since Ssasuolo concedes 2 goals per game on the road. All in all, I think we will see more than two goals here, and the odds of 1.91 for that to happen look really tempting. They don`t even have to come from both sides, as I can see either team scoring three on its own, and therefore I will take those odds.
