Al Khor vs Al Rayyan by Sors
Al Khor comes from a hard-fought draw in the visit to Al Shahaniya last Friday (2-2), first point for this team in the league after five consecutive defeats at the hands of Muaither (0-1/away), Al Gharafa (1-2/home), Al Sadd (0-1/away), Al Wakra (0-1/home) and Al Arabi (1-2/away).
Now the good start of the season is just a memory and is obvious that the main goal for Al Khor this season will be to avoid relegation to a lower division, as during each of the previous three campaigns.
In the matter of fact, Al Khor’s defense is among the best in the Qatar Stars League, but the hosts have serious problems in attack, having scored a total of 12 goals in twelve rounds (less than any other team in this league with the exception of Muaither and Al Kharaitiyat) and one or fewer goals in five of their last six games.
The guests have been pretty inconsistent during first half of the season, as Al Rayyan won just half of its previous twelve games in the league and is currently on fourth position in the standings, eight points behind leaders Al Sadd (6-4-2 19/14).
However, there are some things that should be taken into account here: Al Rayyan is among the teams with the highest potential in the Qatar Stars League, especially in attack, where Michael Laudrup can count on several very experienced players in Koh Myong-jin (midfielder / 3 goals), Rodrigo Tabata (midfielder / 8 goals), Sebastian Soria (forward / 2 goals) and Sergio Garcia (forward / 4 goals). In addition to that, the guests have recorded five wins in six games against opponents that are currently outside Top 6 (5-1-0 11/3) and will enter the game in a good mood after those two victories against Al Wakra (1-0/away) and Al Arabi (3-0/away) in the last two rounds.
I think that Al Rayyan will manage to win three points from this match.
