Inter vs Lazio by PatrickBateman
Inter are in 7th place on the table with 27 points. Lately, they have been pretty good, winning four matches out of the last five. Speaking of their domestic championship, after tough loss in Napoli 3:0, they got back on track with two wins - 2:0 against Genoa and 1:0 at Sassuolo. Against Sassuolo they were the better team for the majoity of the game, however hosts had their chances. The result should have been something like 3:1 for Inter, but in the end the match was decided by Candreva`s unstoppable shot from close range. They are looking dangerous in every attack, however their defense is still shaky, and even though they managed back-to-back clean sheets, they should`ve concede. For this game they will be missing injured Medel, as well as suspended Joao Mario and Felipe Melo.
Lazio are 4th with 34 points, just one less than second-placed Roma. Their recent form has been stellar, losing only one game in the last twelwe. It was, however tough one to take - 2:0 against Roma "at home". It was also third time this season that they haven`t scored, and in all of those games they lost. And those are their only losses this season - Juventus, Milan and Roma. In the last game they beat Fiorentina 3:1 at home, even though they weren`t that much better, with Fiorentina missing a penalty, and Lazio scoring their third goal in 90th minute. They will be complete for this game, as no player will be missing.
Inter are favourites in this one, mostly because they are playing at home, where they have only one loss this season. However, Lazio are alongside Juventus, league`s best visiting team. They lost only against Milan, scoring in every game but that one. Inter have scored in every home league game this season, averaging two goals per game. Lazio are averaging almost two goals per game overall, and they have the best goal difference on the road - 14:8. Therefore, we should see goals coming from both ends here. Neither defense is solid enough, and both attacks are in pretty good form. Bookies agree with that constatation, and they put the odds of both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at only 1.90. But I will take those odds, as I don`t believe Inter will keep third clean sheet in a row, since they didn`t look good in defense in those games. Also, Lazio are playing really good this season and certainly have the means to take something from San Siro. But I don`t think hey can repel Inter`s attack completely. This shoud be an interesting and open game, and I will go with that.
