Hamburger vs Schalke by Rahul

Hamburger
VS
Schalke
Hamburg come into this game struggling and sitting in 17th spot in the table with just 2 victories all season. The good news, those 2 wins came in December alone. The team have shown improved resiliance over the recent period managing to beat Darmstadt and Augsburg in those games. Their biggest issue has been defensively, with those 2 wins along with one other 0-0 draw being their only 3 games without conceding in 15 so far this campaign. They had shipped out 30 goals in their 15 games; showcasing those struggles They had also been struggling to score initially, but that has seen a turn in fortune with them finding the back of the net with 10 goals of in their last 6 games alone and prior to that they had only 2 goals in the league.

Schalke come into this game in desperate need of a victory against a team that is also struggling. Schalke have only found the back of the net 19 times; which has been the major cause for their struggles this season. Key forwards Embolo, Di Santo, Huntelaar, Choupo-Moting a be struggling to find the back of the net, and now Embolo is ruled out until Feb/March with an ankle injury. Schalke will have to rely on Choupo-Moting, Konoplyanka, Bentaleb and Schopf to contribute to the scoring with the struggles that they are facing. Defensively, Schalke have been poor concding 11 times in 15 matches. Defensively also they miss key signing Nastasic and Coke out with injuries while Naldo is suspended, leaving them with less cover at the back.

Both teams need a win, Hamburg coming in with good form, while Schalke struggling defensively and need to turn it around. I am backing over 2.5 goals in this one, as I am expecting both to go for a win here before the Christmas break.

it most likely will be 1:1.
it's hard to see many goals at all.
it's not unlikely 1:0 for Hamburger.
