Orlando
VS
Toronto
The Toronto Raptors have been playing in good form ahead of this encounter against the Orlando Magic as they have won 8 out of their 10 games. Their only 2 losses were narrow 4 point losses to Atlanta and Cleveland; which still shows you how good this team were to come in too close. The Raptors this season have relied a lot on DeMar DeRozan who is playing like a sure fire All-Star starter averaging 28.3 points per game. This offense coupled by their defensive efforts where they leak as many points as Golden State, Cleveland or Houston; who are teams boasting a similar points per game conceded is helping them do well against most of their opponents.

The Orlando Magic are in rebuilding mode as we speak with the team boasting an average 12-16 record this campaign and are looking to slowly build up under new coach Frank Vogel. They haven't had any player be a stand out, which is probably what is not helping them. Fournier, Ibaka, Vucevic, Payton and Gordon are all averaging double figures, but with Vogel continuously shuffling the pack in order to have scoring along with the 2nd unit which the team has been struggling in. Defensively the Magic are leaking 115 points in their last 6 outings against Brooklyn, LA Clippers, Atlanta, Denver, Boston, Washington.

I like the Raptors and what they have been doing lately, and this game against the Magic is going to test their ability the Magic who score 60% of their points in the paint; so Valanciunas, Carroll, Patterson and Siakam will have a tough task on their hands keep the game quiet in the paint. I am backing the Raptors to win this game and cover a -3.5 points handicap.
