Bournemouth vs Southampton by Rahul

Bournemouth take on Southampton in the battle of the south with both teams in a mixed bag of form. Bournemouth have made the Vitality Stadium a fortress for them with only a shock Sunderland defeat and a early season loss to Manchester United being the only blemishes on their home record. They have been attacking at home scoring 15 goals in 8 games at home and averaging over 6.5 corners in their home appearances as they try and put pressure on their opponents. Bournemouth have been also conceding a lot of corners in recent weeks, with an average of 11.5 corners in their home games.

Southampton come into this game without their primary centre forward Charlie Austin, who is going to be missing till almost end of the season with an injury to his shoulder. The responsibility for the Saints attacking falls in the new attacking trio of Redmond, Long and Boufal to help the team progress towards the top half of the table. Wide players Boufal and Redmond; their backups Rodriguez and Tadic along with their full back partners Bertrand and Martina have been delivering a lot of balls into the box towards Austin and will need to continue with some similar form to give a chance to pressure the Bournemouth defense. They have averaged around 12.75 corners in the match on their travels.

I expect this to be an attacking game as both teams will be lo0king for a goal and try to shoot from distance as they both require a victory to move into 7th spot; and I expect lots of corners to be scored in this one. I am backing over 9 corners in this
