Manchester C. vs Arsenal by Rahul

Manchester-C.
VS
Arsenal
Manchester City are the hosts in this critical encounter where the winner could take sole control of 2nd spot in the table. City will be without a lot of key players for this game in Aguero, Kompany, Gundogan, Fernandinho missing out from this game. This lapses in defense is critical as City have been struggling to keep their opponents from scoring and have now conceded goals in 13 out of 16 matches in the league this season. The signing of Claudio Bravo and his sweeper keeper style is clearly not delivering the goods, as he is often caught in messy positions and creating mistakes allowing opponents to score. They lost last weekend by a score of 4-2 to Leicester City and prior to that lost 3-1 to Chelsea as well showcasing their vulnerabilities at the back. City have to rely a lot on the likes of De Bruyne, Nolito, Sterling, Toure and Silva to score the goals for them; with Nolito/Silva probably going to play in a false 9 position in the absence of Aguero.

Arsenal have been running ragged with the unlucky loss in mid-week to Everton being only their 2nd loss all campaign in the league. Arsenal themselves have been guilty of leaking a lot of goals for fun, with 12 out of their 16 games seeing both teams landing to find the back of the net. The defense of Arsenal also has been chopping and changing a lot due to injuries with centre backs Mustafi and Mertersacker going to be absent from this game. The Arsenal midfield is also missing 2 key players Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey, that used to add to the quality of the side. Arsenal are relying heavily on their pace trio of Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott to put pressure on the attack of the opposition to deliver the result.

4 out of the last 5 meeting between the 2 sides has seen over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring; so that is what I am expecting and backing in this encounter between 2 open and attacking sides, who aren't looking good defensively at all.pin
