Club America vs Real Madrid by PatrickBateman

In the second semi-final of FIFA Club World Cup Club America will play against Real Madrid.

Club America are coming into this competition as winners of CONCACAF Champions League. In the quarter-final on Sunday they beat Jeonbuk 2:1, after trailing at half-time. They were the better team in that game and deservedly progressed to the semi-final. Speaking of their domestic championship, they will play against Tigres in the Apertura final, after finishing 5th in the regular season, and beating Guadalajara and Nacaxa on the road to final. They are in great form, losing only once in the last 16 games, with that loss being on penalties against Guadalajara in the Copa Mexico semi-final.

Real Madrid don`t have to be presented specially, beacuse we know everything about them already. They are unbeaten across all competitons this season, they are playing great with and without Ronaldo, and they look simply unbeatable. Barcelona came close to beating them two weeks ago, but Sergio Ramos came up and scored equalizer in 90th minute. On Saturday Deportivo looked like they could snatch a point at Bernabeu, with Joselu scoring two goals in a space of two minutes to make it 2:1, before Diaz made it 2:2 in 84th. It looked like Deportivo can withstand pressure, but from the corner kick in 92nd minute Real`s saviour Sergio Ramos once again came up and secured all three points for the hosts. Sadly for them, Ramos will not participate in this game due to injury. However Ronaldo should play, as he is healthy and Zidane said that he will line up the best team available.

It is clear who the favourites are here, but I don`t think America will be blown out like bookies suggest. Club America have found a net in the last 16 games in succession, while Real Madrid have scored at least one in literally every game this season. Both teams also have trouble keeping a clean sheet, with America doing that only four times in the last nineteen games, and Real doing the same thing also 4 times in 24 games this season. With America being offensively sound and motivated for this game maybe even more than Real, and Real being what they are and having no trouble scoring against anyone anywhere, I see both teams scoring here. I think that the odds of 1.83 are pretty good considering everything, and I will pick that for this one.

Good luck!pin
