Celta vs Sevilla by PatrickBateman

In this La Liga fixture Celta Vigo will host Sevilla.

Celta are currently 10th in La Liga with 21 points. They have only three losses in the last 20 games across all competitions, and are also unbeaten at home for nine straight matches. They are playing open, attacking football, rarely failing to find a net. But as a result, they are conceding a lot, having managed to keep a clean sheet only three times this season.

Sevilla are still holding third position in the league, even though they lost last week while visiting Granada. They are also playing attacking football and scoring regularly. Wednesday`s game against Lyon which saw them progress to a knockout stages of Champions League was the first time in their last 17 games that they didn`t score. They have improved themselves when playing away, but they are still not convincing, with all of their wins on the road being only by one goal difference (except cup game against Formentera 5:1).

It`s really hard to separate these teams, and bookies agree. Celta have been very good at home recently, and with the exception of first two games of the season, they have 6 wins and 2 draws, scoring in every game while averaging 2.5 goals per game. They are also conceding regularly, managing to keep only one clean sheet at home, against weak Panathinaikos in Europa League. With Sevilla being attackingly prolific, especially against teams with the same attacking mentality, hosts look destined to concede here. And when you put their goal differences in perspective (24:26 Celta, 25:20 Sevilla), we should see almost surely goals from both ends. Odds for that are 1.60, and since this should be an open game, with both teams being offensively capable and defensively loose, I think it`s worth adding over 2.5 goals to make those odds 2.00.

Good luck!
