Kassel vs Eintracht Trier by Dajkula
Hessen Kassel hosts Eintracht Trier in round 21 of the Regionalliga Sudwest. The odds have jumped significantly on the hosts in the last few days and I have to take it. It looks quite strange though as Hessen is one of the best home teams in the league while Eintracht is the second worst.
Hessen Kassel is 8`th in the league with 30 points while Trier is 18`th with only 15 points. Hassen has been consistent on home ground having 5-4-2 so far and 14:11 goal diference. They don`t score much but the defense has always managed to hold them in the game. Their only two home losses were suffered against the best teams - Elversberg and Hoffenheim. The wins came against the struggling Teutonia, Kickers, Offenbach, Wormatia and Pirmasens. The only big surprise was a 2:2 draw against the lowly Nottingen but generally the form is excelent at home and away. Hessen has lost just once in the last 10 matches taking 5 wins and 4 draws.
Hessen has really poor stats against Trier and lost 6 of the last 9 matches. They also lost this season away from home but the chance is now. Eintracht owes them big time and they won`t get a chance better than this.
EintrachTrier was fifth last season and was pretty great away from home. This season are yet to show that great game. They started the league with losses and in fact their only win at the at time came against Hessen 3:1. There was a coach change at the begining of october and coach Corrochano took over. The effect was positive and Trier won 3 of the next 4 matches played. It was short lived however and Eintracht fell in the hole again. The last 5 matches were all lost though it needs to be said they played quite strong teams away from home. The away stats are horrible: 0 wins, 2 draws and even 8 losses with a goal difference of 7:21. And it is not only that the team is playing badly but there are financial issues. The debt of Eintrach Trier has grown to over 1 million euro and is still growing. It is certainly something for the players to think about.
Striker Alawie is back in the Eintracht squad and he will be a threat with 9 goals scored so far. There are some missings in the Eintracht team but the coach doesn`t want to say who.
Hessen Kassel should be able to take the 3 points today.
