Cilic vs Isner by Iniestaone
Cilic had 7 aces in the first set and 2 double faults. He was serving at merely 55% and was broken once. He improved in the second, but still only managed to reach 63% first serve. Its understandable that he was unstable in parts of the match and I think he's overwhelmed by this win. I don't see him entering the court vs Isner fully focused on the task ahead. He pulled off what was for him a big mental achievement but Nole was truly at his worst at large parts of the match and was even weaker mentally. He didn't believe in his shot placement at all.
Isner was a giant on serve in the first set, he had 73% first serve, 7 aces and 0 double faults. His first serve percent dropped for each following set, 69% and 63%. He won 76% of the points on his first serve, but what's more impressive is that he won 73% on his second serve. He got worse and worse throughout the match, but Sock was serving very bad in the third and threw the match.
So many people are talking about Cilic's win vs Djokovic and I think its going to mess with his head. He'll need time to settle and he's facing an Isner who hasn't lost a first set yet in Paris. I can't see Cilic winning in straights, while I also can't see Isner winning any other set than the first one from what I saw vs Sock.
