Gent vs Shakhtar Donetsk by PatrickBateman
Hosts are in mixed form recently and have found themselves in 6th place of the domestic championship, which is really tight this season, as they are travelling only six points after leaders Waregem. The biggest reason why they aren`t positioned better is their abysmal away form, which left them without a win this season in all competitions. However their home form is astonishing, with 9 wins out of 9 matches this season.
Visitors are, on the other hand, in amazing form, which saw them drawing only two games this season, and losing only one game - at Young Boys which knocked them out of Champions League. Besides that, they have 18 wins. They are playing great, scoring regularly and have already all but theoretically secured their progress from group. They are leading the Group H and are yet to concede in Europe. For this match they will be without Kovalenko, while Shevchuk is questionable due to sickness.
Gent are second in this group with 4 points and have every right to hope for progress to the knockout stage, however no one is going to hand that to them. Shakhtar will be probably little bit relaxed considering they are leading the group with 9 points and are hardly going to be dethroned. Their task is not going to be easy considering Gent`s great home record, but their quality makes them favourites and they should be able to find a goal. Gent is going to be encouraged by their home form and will push to take something from this game in front of their fans, and even though they will hardly beat stronger Shakhtar, they should be able to net a goal and maybe even get a point.
So it is going to be both teams to score for me.
