Monaco vs CSKA Moscow by PatrickBateman
Hosts are in mixed form recently, unlike two months ago when they had 7 straight wins. Last time in Moscow they were losing up until 87th minute when Bernardo Silva scored to make it 1:1. Monaco are kind of whimsical team, but even though they don`t have a huge support at home, they are hardly beatable on their ground, and this season they are yet to lose.
They will be without Dirar, Moutinho and Traore tonight.
Visitors are maybe the weakest team on paper in this group and they are holding the last place, although they are trailing behind Tottenham only by 3 points. They are in bad form, with only one win in the last 8 matches, at home vs Ufa 1:0. They have 4 straight losses on the road, and the last two games they played were local derbys, against Lokomotiv and Spartak, which they`ve lost - 1:0, and 3:1 respectively. That has surely piled up to their misery and they will come into this game very fragile and with little self-confidence. On top of all that they will be missing two of their best players tonight - Dzagoev and Eremenko.
Having said all that I can`t see past Monaco winning here, and even the odds are dropping. They are better team, they play in better league, and have experience of winning in Champions League. As I said, they don`t have great support at home, like some clubs, but hey, isn`t it playing in beautiful Monaco motive by itself. But joking aside, they should be able to win at home against fragile CSKA, especially because this is nominally the weakest oponent they have left to play, and nobody is safe to progress from the group. Their coach Jardim will surely know this time what to do different and they should come on top.
