Morton vs St Mirren by Henrik Mikkeller
The away side were up against a rampant Hibs team this weekend, who may win this division by some distance, but now have an opportunity to impress new boss Jack Ross. The former Saints' player has recently taken charge and will be looking for a first league win - although his side will have to play well to secure it.
Morton are performing well in the Championship and know that a win could take them into fourth position in the league. They are unbeaten at home but have conceded in all but one of their home league games.
If we disregard matches against the leading duo, Hibernian and Dundee United, then ALL of St. Mirren's matches have seen both teams find the net - this is unlikely to change at Cappielow on Tuesday night. Whilst the Saints have been poor, they do have goal-scorers in the side (St. Mirren's last 6 goals have been scored by 5 different players).
BTTS has therefore proven a reliable bet for both of these teams matches throughout the season and given the heightened intensity (derby match; new coach seeking first league win; side keen to get off the bottom of the table) I think we should expect to see goals in this game (Oh - bonus stats - St. Mirren have not lost in five derbies and BTTS has landed in 3 of the last 4 match-ups).
