Cagliari vs Palermo by Henrik Mikkeller
Incredibly every one of Cagliari's league matches this season has featured over 2.5 goals - for me though the more impressive statistic is that in ALL their home games Cagliari have found the net at least twice (indeed, barring a pre-season friendly against Hamburg, Cagliari have scored twice or more in all their home games since the middle of April).
Admittedly Palermo's away form isn't as bad as their league position might suggest, but when playing in Cagliari the home side seem to flourish with the backing of their own support and shouldn't struggle to find the net against a Palermo team who are likely to be battling relegation come the end of the season - for all that they haven't lost many away games, they have only won one of them and draws do little to help a team climb the table - remember Everton last season? (14 draws meant a team which should be challenging for a European position finished in the bottom half).
Coach Roberto De Zerbi called his Palermo team "mentally weak" in the past seven days and it would seem that the managerial merry-go-round could be spinning again pretty soon on Sicily - a couple of goals for Cagliari tonight probably wouldn't help matters...
