Cilic vs Nishikori by Iniestaone

I feel like bookies are still undervaluing Cilic in finals because of his past as a mentally unstable player, he has shown in the recent years that he can be relied on in big matches even though he has had several Cilicesque collapses here and there. I don't think such a collapse will come in Basel today.

Unfortunately I missed Nishikori's match vs Del Potro but I saw that he saved 8 breakpoints and wasn't broken once during the match. Very impressive for him. Cilic on the other hand defeated M. Zverev in three, which was a bigger win than it seems since Zverev is playing amazing tennis this fall.

Clic and Nishikori have played a lot since 2008 - 11 times, and the head to head reads 7-4 in Nishikori's favor. I think he is the rightful favorite, however, he is to big of a favorite. Before Basel he was having injury problems and had to retire from Tokyo, which means it was serious considering how important that tournament is to him. His road to the finals has been through Lajovic, Lorenzi, Del Potro and Muller. He won all the matches in straights except vs Muller.

As far as Cilic goes, he defeated Youzhny, Carreno-Busta, Granollers-Pujol and Zverev. He also won all his matches in straights except the latest one. I think both him and Nishikori will have a good set each with the third being up for grabs for either of them.
