Nishikori vs Cilic by Estebaneiro

Final match in Basel. Indoor hard.

Kei Nishikori yesterday took down Juan Martin del Potro, and he was playing with an insane consistency in the first set. The first part of the match was in the favour of Del Potro, whose serving was rock solid, and he was first to create some break point chances for himself, but the longer the match lasted, the more Nishikori started to come out of the top, and the pressure on Argentinian kept increasing, and while he was able to save first few break points, he eventually got broken and it was very much thanks to Nishikori's intelligent plays.

Today Kei played sligthly worse match against Muller, but it was also a different kind of game - this time he was the favourite. Nishikori lost first set, and had to save 2 match points on his route to comeback victory.

Cilic is a very solid player, and possibly a huge threat, but if Nishikori is able to execute the same plan like against Delpo, and play on the similar level, I think it should work just as fine. Cilic is not used to running a lot on court, because very often he is able to take the initiative within few shots. Here, it might not be so easy, because Nishikori is renowned of his tactical game.

H2H is 7:4 for Nishikori. He won both matches last year, but lost in 2014 in US Open final.
